Nearly all of my friends have children so you'd think I'd know quite a bit about this pregnancy thing. I'm quickly learning, though, that beyond morning sickness and cravings I'm in the dark.
For example, no one ever mentioned that some women drool in their first trimester. Or pee a little when they sneeze. (Both of these things would have been nice to know.)
Is there anything else I should be prepared for? Feel free to e-mail me if you're too shy to comment.

It is funny to catch you drooling
Have you heard about the mucus plug? You will want to know about that one. Sounds lovely, huh?
ahh yes, the mucus plug. that is awful. and the peeing when you sneeze doesn't necessarily go away. it can happen with unexpected bursts of laughter as well. let's see, contractions don't stop after birth...especially if you are nursing. oh, towards the end your joints will loosen so watch those hips. ooh, and helpful hint...near the end (again)...get a mattress cover or put down some towels when you go to sleep in case your water breaks. it can be a LOT of water so you want to protect your mattress.
yeah get used to the whole "peeing when you sneeze, laugh, cough" thing. it stays with you for the entire 9 1/2 months.
are you more clumsy yet? watch for that one. i was so clumsy when i was pregnant.
snoring. you might start snoring.
um.....well, that's all i can come up with right now.
oh no wait...you might be uh, a bit more gassy than normal. [i'm just saying i know that has happened to people. i'm not admitting anything!]
The Braxton Hicks contractions are wonderful! Seriously, they HURT! As you get bigger, you won't be able to breath while sitting down. Just wait till the baby gets in the head down position and decides to use your ribs as a soccer ball. Sleeping toward the end is impossible. Between the peeing and the being uncomfortable, I think I averaged about 4 hours a night. Do not, under any circumstances, take your regular clothes to the hospital. You won't be able to wear them. It depresses me just thinking about it!
oh, i thought of another...as your belly gets bigger and bigger you'll be hungry but there's no room for food in your stomach. you'll be starving, eat three bites...full, stuffed. then 30 minutes later starving again.
Start snoring?
